Dear Prospective Fitness Trainer,
Thanks
for taking the time to visit this site. It’s my hope that you have
precisely what I need as a fitness trainer or a sports performance coach so I can take this page down
immediately and put you to work in the fun and rewarding coaching
position I have available. We are looking to hire a personal trainer at our Anytime Fitness location and
a sports performance coach/personal trainer at our West Seneca location.
You should have arrived here because you saw my employment ad that reads like this:
So let me tell you about me, my company and the coaching position.
My
name is Jason Long and I run a sports performance and fitness coaching
company
called TREO Sports & Fitness right here in Buffalo, NY.
My
business is dedicated to helping men, women, children and teenagers
achieve their
health, fitness, and sports performance goals through our
personalized comprehensive
fitness and sports performance programs.
And business is growing!
I'm looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and energetic person to start training some of our current clients.
We currently operate out of The Buffalo Niagara Court
Center in West Seneca and Anytime Fitness in Blasdell behind McKinley
mall.
We
currently offer private personalized sports performance and fitness
programs, group sports performance and fitness programs, fitness
boot camps and educational seminars. Our average client begins with a 12
week training package which includes: nutrition counseling, program
design, pre and post assessments and weekly training sessions at one of
our locations.
If you are hired for this coaching position, you'll begin coaching
clients at one of our locations at a time and day specific to the
clients needed to be serviced
Bottom
line: you will get several clients starting out and depending on your
level of experience, credentials and any groups you may be coaching, you will receive $18 -$30 per hour +
commission. You will be paid as an independent contractor, and have the
opportunity to move up to group training rates of $30/hour after a 90-day trial
period. Again, depending on your experience and credentials. Our
locations offer a casual, fun environment, and great training equipment.
You
will find me to be very fair, respectful and appreciative. I like
having fun and making money providing highly valuable sports and fitness
services and products. You will be compensated fairly, treated fairly
and I will certainly look for ways to pay you more for your efforts if
they warrant it. I want someone who enjoys working with people and
making a difference in the lives of others… because that’s what we do in
my business.
Tasks You’ll Be Expected To Performance
- Develop Comprehensive Health & Fitness Programs For Clients:
You'll receive coaching and training on our training system and programs
and you'll have flexibility to share your training style and knowledge.
- Track Client Progress: In order to ensure a client's success in
our program, you'll need to track weekly progress, current successes and
challenges, review client nutrition and exercise log worksheets and
more on a weekly basis. It will be your job to hold a client
accountable to his/her health and fitness or performance program to
ensure the best results possible.
- Perform Fitness or Performance Assessments: Ideally, you'll have
some assessment skills and can test for: body composition,
body weight, girth measurements, heart rate, conduct a FMS, and provide
various speed, agility, and dynamic movement assessments for our
athletes. You do not need previous experience as you will be trained in our system, but if you do, that's a
bonus!
- Coach clients through their program: You'll be responsible for
weekly exercise sessions and keeping detailed weekly progress reports on
the clients your working with. If a client is having challenges
throughout his/her program, you'll coach and motivate the client and
make appropriate changes to ensure consistent progress. We emphasize a team dynamic at TREO which means that no trainer is solely responsible for a clients results, the whole is always greater than its parts.
- Demonstrate Proper Exercise Instruction: This is a big one. I
need you to be able to provide proper coaching, instruction, and
motivation during a client training session. You should have a working
knowledge of the human body (i.e. muscles, movements, functions, etc)
and be able to provide appropriate exercises specific to the client’s
goals.
- Provide Ongoing Health and Fitness Education: Our clients rely on
us to service all of their health and fitness needs. It is your job as a
fitness or sports performance coach to provide our clients with health and fitness education
on various topics that will empower them to lead healthy lives forever.
You'll be provided with educational tools and resources, and will be
expected to study them and speak about them with your clients. We also
spend time covering this during our staff meetings.
Required Skills
These are the skills you must already have in order to qualify for this position:
-
Good Communication Skills: you will be talking with my clients,
who are VERY important to me. You must be comfortable conversing
in-person and on the phone and know how to conduct yourself
professionally, and deliver clear instructions to the clients. I’ll
teach you everything you need to do during a training session, but I
can’t teach you manners and professionalism.
- People skills and personality: you must LOVE working with people!
As mentioned above you must be very comfortable working with people.
We have two exciting locations and you must be able to show your clients
energy and excitement while working with them.
- Health and Fitness Education: You do not need personal training
experience for our personal training position, yet sports performance training experience is highly encouraged for our sports performance coaching position. You should have a working knowledge of health,
fitness, and performance and you must have a respected certification.
- A current CPR certification is required
Bonus Skills
If
you have these additional skills, your resume will go right to the top
of the stack (but if you don’t have these skills, you should still apply
because these are not mandatory).
- Previous sports performance and/or personal training experience (fitness studio, health club, in-home trainer, etc.)
- Basic nutrition knowledge
